What to expect after your fSWT session

While highly effective, it's normal to experience some discomfort after Focused Shockwave Therapy. We want you to be prepared and understand how to manage any post-treatment sensations.

Post-treatment sensations

You may or may not feel immediate pain, but some discomfort typically arises 2-4 hours after treatment. This can last up to 48 hours, and in very rare cases, up to 5 days. You might also notice some bruising and swelling.

Managing discomfort

The shockwave therapy triggers an inflammatory response, which is your body's natural healing process. Therefore, it is crucial not to use anti-inflammatory medications or ice. The pain should subside within 24 hours. If necessary, you may take Paracetamol, provided you have no contraindications to this medication.
